Fred co-founded NextEquity Partners after helping establish Elevation Partners in 2005. His perspective is shaped by decades as a senior operator and financial leader in the technology industry. He provides mentorship and advice to the CFOs in our portfolio.
From 1996 to 2004, Fred served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Apple. He helped navigate the company through a liquidity crisis, restructuring, and return to sustainable profitability—work that contributed to one of technology’s defining turnarounds.
Before Apple, Fred was CFO and a member of the executive committee at ADP. He previously held several senior roles at MAI Systems, including President and Chief Operating Officer. He began his career as a U.S. Air Force captain and as a CPA and consulting manager with Coopers & Lybrand.
